Congratulations, Frances Antoinette Cruz

PHISO gladly congratulates our President, Frances Antoinette Cruz, for being elected as board member of the Inter-Asia Cultural ​Studies Society (IACSS). PHISO, together with  the UP CIDS Decolonial Studies Program convenors, will have its roundtable discussion entitled “Exploring Decoloniality in the Philippines” at the IACSS International Conference on August 1-3, 2019 at Siliman University, Dumaguete City, Philippines.

Frances Antoinette Cruz is an Assistant Professor of German at the Department of European Languages, University of the Philippines, Diliman, and co-convener of the Decolonial Studies Program at the Center for Integrative and Development Studies. She is also a lecturer at the International Studies Department at Miriam College. She has taught classes on Western Civilization, German Culture and Society, the Global Diaspora and Migration, and Middle Eastern relations with Europe. Her present research interests are Philippine discourses of the ‘international’ and decolonizing foreign language instructional materials.
