Benefits and Types of Membership

Everyone is invited to become a member of PHISO, whether you are a historian, philosopher, sociologist, practitioner, or in any fields of social/physical sciences, humanities, and religion. As long as you are interested in International Studies and related disciplines, you are warmly welcome to join the association. With your active membership to PHISO you help materialize the activities of the organization and support the development of Global South perspective, Philippine experiences, homegrown theorizing, critical theory and decoloniality in Philippine scholarship.

Any individual who is of legal age and is interested in International Studies and/or its related disciplines and fulfills the requirements herein set forth may become a member of the Association upon approval by its proper authority.

Membership benefits:
 Have access to membership-related content on the website
 Receive timely updates on activities of PHISO
 Attend, participate in, and vote in the annual PHISO General Assembly
 Participate in other activities sponsored and/or supported by PHISO
 Receive e-copies and/or discounts of selected PHISO publications
 Receive discounts on conference fees, workshops and activities related to professional development.

Any individual who is of legal age and is interested in International Studies and/or its related disciplines and fulfills the requirements herein set forth may become a member of the Association upon approval by its proper authority.

Types of Membership include:

Standard Membership: This is designed to all individuals, both working (scholars, teachers, and practitioners) and graduate (PhD and Master) students. Standard members have voting rights and are eligible to run to become an officer of the organization. The rate is 800 PHP (or 20 USD for foreign applicants) annually.

Associate Membership: This is designed only for undergraduate students who pay less than the standard membership fees. Associate members shall have representation and voting rights on matters affecting their status as associate members within the organization. The rate is 500 PHP (or 15 USD for foreign applicants) annually.

Validity Period:

Regardless of date of payment, annual cycle of membership starts on November 01 and ends on October 31 the following year. This cycle coincides with the biennial international conference and biennial international workshop of PHISO which happens every first week of November.
