AASSREC membership

As we expand our international linkages, we are proud to announce our associate membership in the Association of Asian Social Science Research Councils (AASSREC). The Council was set up in 1973 to help promote the social sciences in the region and to create an Asian identity for the social sciences.

We will be participating at AASSREC’s regular activities that include:

  • the conduct of biennial general conferences and the publication of conference papers and proceedings
  • the conduct of collaborative research programs on specific problems of common interest to Asia-Pacific countries, and
  • the assessment of trends in social science research and teaching in the Asia-Pacific region.

This is our 7th international partnership with current memberships at or MoUs with International Studies Association (ISA), World International Studies Committee (WISC), International Political Science Association (IPSA), Global South Caucus of International Studies (GSCIS), College of William and Mary’s Teaching, Research & International Policy (TRIP), and the School of International Studies of the University Utara Malaysia (UUM).

In the national level, we fostered partnerships with the International Studies department of Miriam College, and the Helena Z Benitez School of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Philippine Women’s University.
